I've been fascinated in how things work for as long as I can remember. As a small child I can remember dismantling anything electronic I could lay my hands on, from the family Dragon 32 home computer to the cassette recorder my brothers and I used to record songs from the radio on.
In hindsight, it was no surprise I would be drawn to technology and engineering as a young adult. It was a passion I had from a young age that continues to this day.
My professional technical life began in a way that is commonplace in UK engineering, through an apprenticeship scheme, teaching me the practicalities of the world of work, whilst studying at Bath Technical College.
After my apprenticeship, I went on to work for a number of technology companies and joined a small startup manufacturing business in my twenties as an engineer. I soon realized that I had an appetite for the business and human elements of the operation (something that is often not present in engineers) and took on the business development responsibilities of the company. Over a 12 year period, we went from being a 3 person operation operating out of an attic to a company operating in over 25 countries worldwide.
Following on from this growth and experience of international business development, I have since founded a successful business that helps European businesses distribute their systems here in the USA which I continue to work at in addition to providing consultancy.
My experience as a Brit based in the USA gives me a unique experience of the business practices, culture and processes of both countries, and my real world experience of establishing businesses on both sides of the Atlantic puts me in the ideal position to help companies that are looking to do the same.
With over 20 years experience in the engineering, technology and manufacturing sectors, I can help you develop your business to see the results you're expecting.
